Overview

Whitewater rafting is a thrilling adventure and Costa Rica is home to some of the best rivers and internationally trained rafting guides in the world.

This full day extreme tour is available only during the rainy season which is typically from May to December but, due to unpredictable weather patterns, it is good to check availability before booking. Appropriate for experienced rafters or those aged eight and over who are in excellent physical condition seeking an extreme adventure experience while discovering Costa Rica.

Accompanied by bilingual professional safety kayakers you’ll be guided to where the wild Naranjo River plunges steeply down the high mountain range bordering the Pacific ocean. Continuing on this challenging half-day course you’ll be charging through jungle gorges and winding around rocky curves before finally reaching sea level.

This high octane courageous endeavor begins with an important briefing of safety procedures and river conditions before guiding you out into the rushing river where you’ll be navigating through Class III and Class IV rapids. With seasonal rains the rapidly rising river increases the level of difficulty for even the most experienced rafter. This jungle rafting expedition is sure to take you to new heights of excitement.

Between shooting rapids, you’ll have fleeting scenic vistas of Costa Rican working farms, ranches and plantations. This seven mile adventure ride should keep your adrenaline racing for hours.

Round trip shuttle transportation is included from your lodgings in Manuel Antonio although arrangements can be made from other outlying areas, such as Jaco and Dominical, for an additional fee. Please note that shuttle pick up times will vary depending on your location and will be leaving Manuel Antonio at 3:30pm in the afternoon for all return trips.

This tour includes internationally trained guides and safety kayakers, fruits, juice, plus all regulation safety and rafting equipment in top condition.

Please note, not recommended January through April, as water levels are typically very low. As an alternate, try Chorro River during this season.
