Enjoy the adrenaline as you take the plunge on this challenging waterfall canyoning adventure at Hacienda Guachipelin. You’ll experience 3 waterfall rappels ending with an exciting Tarzan Swing.
The tour begins at Hotel Hacienda Guachipelin when you meet your guides who will help you get suited up with high-quality helmets and safety harnesses. You’ll head deep into the rainforest to an adventure course designed around a series of rock faces and waterfalls. As safety is always the number one priority, your professional, bilingual guides will go over safety instructions and thoroughly teach you the basics of rappelling.
You’ll walk out to a platform that bridges the top of two rock faces, one of which is covered with a cascading waterfall. Standing at the edge of the platform holding onto your rope, you’ll lean backward feeling your harness supporting you. Slowly releasing your rope bit by bit you’ll hang freely in the air rappelling yourself down through the waterfall towards the river below.
As you get close to the water you’ll be released from the ropes and dropped into the refreshing natural pool. With your guides handling the safety lines, you’ll climb back up the rock face to the platform to try it all over again.
From here, you’ll head through the rainforest to continue “mother nature’s obstacle course”, where greater challenges lie ahead. You’ll be led to another higher rappel where you’ll jump off a cliff as you control the ropes making your descent. The professional guides will always be backing up your equipment to ensure your safety.
Next, the thrilling Tarzan swing! Imagine you are standing facing out on a platform holding a large rope, fully secured by your harness. Your guide counts to three…then you take a jump into the jungle abyss, grasping on to the Tarzan rope swinging you to the other side of the canyon, and back towards the platform again, several times until you finally come to a full stop. Many have said this was the most thrilling and rewarding personal challenge of all.
Throughout your adventure, your guides will provide interesting information about the surrounding jungle and its inhabitants. You may encounter some of the local wildlife living there such as monkeys, sloths, and toucans, just to name a few.
This 1.5 to 2 hour stimulating personal challenge tour includes professional, bilingual guides and all safety equipment. Transportation to the hotel is NOT provided.
You’ll need to wear enclosed tennis or water shoes, and a bathing suit under clothes that can get wet. Please bring insect repellent, sunscreen, camera, and a dry change of clothes for after the tour. Children ages 10 years old and up are welcome to participate in this tour.
And don’t forget to scream!
