Where can I see nesting sea turtles?
Sea turtles nest on many beaches in Costa Rica, but timing is everything. They generally favor the rainy season and nearly always nest at night.
The most popular turtle nesting locations are:
Tortuguero from mid-July to mid-October
Playa Ostional or Camaronal from May through November. Playa Camaronal was recently closed to the public but you can still visit nearly Playa Corozalito, which is just as good for turtle nesting observation tours.
Las Baulas National Park (Playa Grande) from mid-October to mid-February
