Nestled on the southwest section of the Nicoya Peninsula lies a surfers paradise and the Manala Hotel. This zone of coastline receives some of the best waves in the country and has truly became one of the best kept secrets of the country. A majority of this beach is absolutely untouched, turning the beaches from a tourist attraction to a white sand heaven. The Manala Hotel is a bungalow style boutique located within walking distance of all the waves the Santa Teresa area has to offer. Hotel amenities include swimming pool, jacuzzi, tropical gardens, and internet.
When you choose a bungalow setting for your family’s next vacation, you are deciding to treat them to a once in a lifetime vacation experience. You’ll avoid all the hustle and bustle of a noisy, crowded hotel, and will instead enjoy the peacefulness of your own vacation. It’s as if you never left home, with the exception of a pristine beach in your front yard!
If you choose Santa Teresa or Mal Pais for your next vacation, one of the most popular activities is going to be surfing. The breaks are incredible in this part of the country, so taking advantage of them is ideal. But, we understand not everyone comes to Santa Teresa to surf, so we’ve complied a list of several alternate activities that one can enjoy while they vacation at Manala Hotel. Zip-lining, wildlife expeditions, birdwatching, snorkeling, scuba diving, and even a tour to Costa Rica’s Isla Tortuga (Turtle Island) are all great options for people that are hoping to pack some adventure into their vacation.
The Manala Hotel offers one style of bungalow, which will surely accommodate your party. The Bungalow features, natural ventilation, bathroom with hot water, in-room laptop safe, Wi-Fi, mini refrigerator, cable TV, and a terrace with chairs, garden and pool views. Remember, the bungalow experience is much different than your typical hotel room, because you get the convenience of your own freedom, something every vacation needs a lot of!
Manala Hotel Bungalow’s are a great option for families or couples that want a very authentic Costa Rican experience. There won’t be a ton of tourists and noisy resort pools, but rather a lot of pristine beach time and authentic meals. This area is not the best option for families with small families, or vacationers with little experience speaking Spanish, but if you love the area, the language barrier will not be a problem.

Would have preferred beach front, however, the beach was only 2 minutes walking distance away
